Ways of working

Tailored projects

You need a company/agency that will respect and honor your ample requests. You need a company that will give you an opportunity to share your skills and get the amazing experience that you are looking for! Our goal is to help you get that exciting and unforgettable experience in Uganda. Whatever your budget and taste, we will be able to find a placement that suits you.

Get in touch with Connexxion Trust International and we will discuss and plan in detail your wishes, possibilities and opportunities. Once everything is established and settled, we will confirm our agreement by sending you a contract. Your adventure of a lifetime is about to start!

Reception of volunteers

Connexxion Trust International personnel will meet you on arrival at Entebbe Airport and direct you to suitable accommodation.

Orientation and accommodation

Upon your arrival we shall organize an orientation meeting with you to discuss more about your project and the NGO operations. Accommodation shall be arranged to you.

Duration of stay

Our placements usually range from one month to six months. During your stay, we will regularly meet to monitor and evaluate your proceedings and discuss possible challenges.

After expiry of the placement period you can apply through Connexxion Trust International to request for the renewal of your contract. Our decision will depend on the availability of opportunity. Alternatively, you might want to extend your stay by traveling through the country to see national parks, mountains, lakes, more of the Ugandan culture and other highlights. We will be happy to guide and advice you in this.

Participation fee

We do understand and appreciate that it is a big sacrifice for someone to leave his or her country and to come to contribute to the development of Uganda through volunteerism. But since Connexxion Trust International does not receive any external funding or government subsidy to support their operations, expenses of volunteers and coordinating the exchange, volunteers contribute a participation fee of 365 USD or 250 EUROS, independent of duration of stay.

The contribution paid helps us to pick you from the airport, pay for one night accommodation in a hotel on arrival, and transporting you to the respective organization. We also use the contribution on orientation meetings which involve going to some supermarkets, Ugandan heritage and museum and local markets, how to use taxi’s, how to buy things in markets (bargaining) and much more. Around 90% of the contribution is spent on the volunteer/intern.

Other expenses

You thus need to pay for your own air ticket. You will also pay for your living expenses while in Uganda. However the company can assist in identifying cheap and safe accommodation upon request. If for example you are interested in living with a local Ugandan family, we will identify a trustworthy family for you. This is considered to be the cheapest option of accommodation. We have not yet been able to secure accommodation for our volunteers because they have different tastes/preferences. Some chose to work in rural areas, others in urban, hence making it hard for us to have a central accommodation.
